The U.S. Treasury sanctioned Cuba’s Intelligence Directorate, four cabinet ministers, three generals, and senior Communist Party officials on May 18, 2026, under Executive Order 14404. Cuba’s President Díaz-Canel warned of a “bloodbath” if the U.S. attacks, as reports emerged Cuba had acquired 300+ military drones from Russia and Iran.
