The NYPD is investigating after surveillance cameras captured two separate groups — totaling at least 15 people equipped with waders, headlamps, and shovels — entering Brooklyn’s sewer system through manholes late Thursday night and emerging hours later on May 30, 2026. No damage was found, no hazards detected, and no motive has been established. Two men were arrested in a related third incident in Bensonhurst.
