AULA T102 Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Review
The AULA T102 is a wired, full-size keyboard and mouse set aimed at buyers who want gaming looks for very little money. It has a brushed metal-style top panel, rainbow backlighting on the keyboard, and a lit mouse. A few things about the listing are worth clarifying first, because they affect what you actually get.
This is not a mechanical keyboard. The listing is sold under several slightly different titles across Amazon’s stores, and some of them use phrases like “mechanical feel.” Retailers selling the same T102 say it plainly: it’s a membrane keyboard. Membrane keyboards use a rubber dome under each key, which feels softer and quieter than mechanical switches and doesn’t offer swappable switches or the same click or tactile response. If you want a real mechanical keyboard, this isn’t one. AULA does make mechanical models, such as the F75 and F99, but those are separate, more expensive products.
Titles and colors vary. The same ASIN (B0B3RJML38) is described differently on Amazon’s US, Singapore and UAE pages, with claims such as “waterproof” and compatibility with Mac, Xbox and PlayStation. The T102 is also sold in several panel and keycap color combinations, including black and gray. We couldn’t confirm which color this exact listing shows, so check the live page.
What it is
The keyboard has 104 keys, full size with a numeric pad, with about 2.0 mm of key travel. Its backlighting is rainbow RGB with a few modes (constant, breathing and heartbeat) and adjustable brightness and speed, but it’s described as fixed-key RGB, meaning you can’t set a different color for each key. It has 12 media shortcuts on the F-keys through the Fn key, and a built-in holder for a phone or pen. It connects with USB and works with Windows and Mac.
The mouse has four DPI steps (1200, 2400, 4800, 7200) and breathing RGB lighting. Retailer descriptions conflict on the number of buttons (some say six, another says a standard three-button layout), so confirm on the listing.
What we could and couldn’t verify
We did not find a review of the T102 from a major testing outlet, or a detailed hands-on review. What exists is manufacturer-style descriptions repeated by retailers and short customer comments on a Bangladeshi retailer’s page, which call it a good combo for the price and say the build feels premium. Those are positive, but they’re brief and we can’t verify them. Amazon’s own store page for AULA shows a “1K+ bought in past month” indicator on a similar AULA combo, which tells you it sells, not that it’s good. So this review is based on the specifications and on how this type of product usually behaves.
What the specs tell you
- 26-key anti-ghosting. This means the keyboard can register up to 26 keys at once without missing presses, which is fine for most games but is not the full N-key rollover that better gaming keyboards advertise. For typical gaming and typing it’s usually enough.
- 125Hz mouse polling rate. One retailer lists the mouse at 125Hz. Many gaming mice poll at 1000Hz, which means smoother, more responsive cursor updates. At 125Hz the mouse is fine for office work and casual gaming, but fast-paced competitive shooters will feel the difference. A high top DPI number, like 7200, doesn’t make up for that. It’s one retailer’s spec, so check it, but it fits the budget positioning.
- Metal panel, plastic everything else. The listing calls the top plate aluminum alloy. The rest of the keyboard and the mouse are almost certainly plastic at this price.
- Spill claims. Listings call it “waterproof,” but that’s a marketing claim, not an independent rating. Treat it as light-spill resistance at most, and don’t test it with a full drink.
Who it’s for
People who want a cheap full-size keyboard and mouse with RGB lighting for a first PC setup, a kid’s room, or an office desk, and who don’t care about mechanical switches. If you play competitive games or type for long periods and want a better feel, a dedicated mechanical keyboard and a 1000Hz gaming mouse will be a clear step up for not much more money.
Pros
- Very affordable way to get a keyboard and mouse together
- Full-size layout with a numeric pad and 12 media shortcuts
- Rainbow backlighting with several modes, plus a lit mouse
- Quiet, soft membrane keys with 2.0 mm travel
- Phone and pen holder built in
- USB plug and play, works with Windows and Mac
- Retail comments call the build premium for the price
Cons
- It’s a membrane keyboard, not mechanical, despite “mechanical feel” wording on some titles
- 26-key anti-ghosting, not full N-key rollover
- Mouse polling reported at only 125Hz, which hurts fast competitive gaming
- Lighting is fixed-key RGB, so no per-key customization
- No independent professional review, and customer comments we found were brief and unverifiable
- Listing titles, colors and mouse button counts vary, so it’s easy to buy something slightly different
- “Waterproof” is an unverified claim
Verdict
The AULA T102 does what a cheap RGB combo is supposed to do: it gives you a full-size keyboard and mouse that look the part for very little, and the comments we found say the build feels better than the price suggests. But the evidence is thin, with no independent testing, and the specs show where the savings come from: a membrane keyboard rather than a mechanical one, 26-key anti-ghosting, and a mouse that reportedly polls at only 125Hz. If you want a cheap starter set or office combo, it’s a reasonable buy. If you play competitive games or want a mechanical feel, spend a bit more on a real mechanical keyboard and a 1000Hz mouse. Whichever you pick, check the color and the mouse details on the live listing before ordering.
